A podcast for anyone facing the unexpected.
this wasn't
the plan

You don’t have to go through this health journey alone.
We started this podcast because we’ve been in your shoes. A new diagnosis, endless amounts of information and doctors, the internet and social pressure, and not to mention your dreams and future hanging in the balance. We want every person to feel the same way we did sitting in a cancer center with like-minded others; seen, heard, understood, and loved.
Join us weekly as we dive into all sort of topics around cancer diagnosis, treatment options, navigating healing, and overall wellness.
Meet your hosts.
Brittany and Kali met during the hardest seasons of their lives. Both Brittany and Kali decided to treat their breast cancer integratively and met at one of the top treatment centers in the united states. They instantly formed a bond and connect only people going through healing can understand.
Each host has their own unique situation and story, which gives them each a unique persepective on healing and health they carry into giving to listeners.
Brittany Burling
Brittany is a people person, entrepreneur, and follower of Jesus. In addition to co-hosting This Wasn’t the Plan, she manages much of the podcast’s social media, marketing, and operations. Brittany deeply believes that the body, when given the right tools, has an incredible capacity to heal, and she loves diving into the science behind health and wellness to understand this more.
When she’s not focusing on healing (priority #1), recording, or working, you’ll find her cooking nourishing meals (and lots of better-for-you treats), spending time outdoors, or hanging out with her husband, cats, and their amazing community.

Kali Changaris
Kali leads with gratitude, loves fiercely, and is a glass-half-full type of gal. She enjoys making people laugh (preferably with her and not at her). Not only is she the co-host of This wasn’t the Plan, but she also edits and produces the podcast. She brings levity and relatability to hard conversations, finding humanity in even the messiest moments.
With a background in health coaching, sharing tips about wellness has always been a passion of hers. She’s fascinated by how complex and perfectly created our bodies are. Currently, her weekdays are dedicated to her number one priority, healing from cancer. But the weekends are reserved for her family. She loves hanging with her husband and toddler, going to museums, having a day at the beach, or seeking out organic eateries and cute coffee shops. Cancer shifted her perspective, guiding her toward a more intentional way of living. Becoming a Mom has helped her find purpose and meaning, but being diagnosed with cancer has given her a voice.
